A bioclimatic awning is an aluminum pergola system with sliding louvers that retract and open the roof section of the structure.
Unlike traditional systems with rotating louvers, this system enables complete roof opening for maximum natural light intake or complete closure for protection from sun and precipitation.

HOW IT WORKS
The roof section consists of aluminum panels that slide within guide rails. When the system opens, the panels retract to provide a completely open view of the sky. When closed, they form a solid and waterproof surface with an integrated drainage system.
